    "Was Jesus a Freemason?"

A DVD recently was brought to my attention that should be of particular interest to both Masons and skeptics alike, "Was Jesus a Freemason?" by Keith King of New South Wales, Australia. Although not an original concept, such talk has been bandied about for years, the film makes a compelling argument that Jesus was a Freemason.

The documentary, which is approximately thirty minutes in length, relies extensively on the interpretation of Masonic symbolism as derived from the Bible are religious architecture. One of the film's basic premises is that our ancient churches were built by Masons and, as such, there is a lot of Masonic symbolism embedded in them, therein hiding Masonic codes. As a small example, St. Thomas, a discipline of Jesus, is always shown with a carpenter's square, a dominant Masonic symbol. Also, John the Baptist, a well known patron saint of Freemasonry, was one of Jesus' teachers. Further, Jesus is often depicted wearing a lambskin, an emblem of innocence and the badge of a Mason. Fans of Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code" will love it because it is filled with hidden clues about the Craft.

Although such a film obviously has a slant towards Christianity, the producers make it clear that Freemasonry is open to other religions which also make active use of such symbolism. The film is produced and sold by:

This film is the first in a series. It will be interesting to see what other clues Keith King will unearth.

    Stay tuned.
